A. Your OysterShell will help you reduce the occurrence of injury directly and indirectly in the following ways:
Thanks to the shock-absorbing Ailette, the load on the shoulder is spread over the whole body and the occurrence of shoulder injury will be reduced
Thanks to the posture correction feature of your OysterShell, the occurrence of back injury will be reduced
In the long run, your OysterShell will help you develop a biomechanically sound swing mechanism, which is a best injury prevention
The OysterShell will be particularly useful for ladies and seniors, as quite often the muscle surrounding the joint is not strong enough - also the joint gets more vulnerable with age.
Q. Will the OysterShell improve my game and lower the score?
A. Your OysterShell will alleviate your medical/physical condition, enabling you to stay fresh and focused throughout the entire round; possibility of lowering your score is real. From the technical standpoint, however, it will help you improve your swing gradually over time; possibility of lowering your score in the long run. Please allow enough time, as it may take several months to see an effective improvement.
Q. Is the OysterShell allowed in a tournament?
A. As far as we know, there is no case that a shirt is considered illegal. In fact, Rules of Golf 14-3 by USGA and R&A Rules Limited stipulates:
Players must not use any "artificial equipment", "unusual equipment", nor may they use equipment in an unusual way to assist them in making a stroke, judging distance, or gripping the club
The rules provide for some exceptions and also allow the USGA to make rulings on equipment and uses of same at any time – equipment or device designed for or has the effect of alleviating a medical condition
We are confident that the golf authorities, having mission to promote the sport and protect their players from various pains and injuries, should consider the OysterShell as a protective garment, a kind of chamois in cycling.
After multiple tests and considerations, there is no evidence that the OysterShell would not be compliant with the Rules of Golf. In particular, it does not assist in making a stroke. We also believe that the OysterShell will facilitate and shorten the learning process, so that more people can join and enjoy the game.
We will submit a sample to R&A and USGA for homologation. In any event, we are convinced that your OysterShell will still be useful for practice on the range, as well as friendly or practice rounds on the course.
Q. What is the lifetime of the OysterShell? What about the Ailette?
A. Durability has always been (and will continue to be) one of our main considerations. The Ailette should resist about 100 washes, and your OysterShell will last even longer - this is also one of the reasons why we made the Ailette removable and replaceable.
